Dillon, Fister score impressive wins in defeat

COEUR d’ALENE — Payton Dillon (103 pounds) and Leonard Fister each notched impressive wins, but it wasn’t enough against the No. 1 ranked 5A wrestling team in the state, as the Bulldogs fell 60-18 to the Vikings Wednesday night in a dual at Coeur d’Alene High School.

Dillon scored a tight 7-5 decision over A.J. Konda, the No. 4 ranked 103 pounder in the 5A ranks, and Fister a quality 5-2 decision over Johnny Peregrina, the No. 4 ranked 5A wrestler at 160 pounds.

David Marienau (145) and Garret Belgarde registered pins for Sandpoint, which was once again snake-bitten by six forfeits.
