| February 9, 2010 8:00 PM

Dorothy June (Andrews) Smith, 70, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho, surrounded by the love of her family.

Private services have been held.

Dottie was born on June 14, 1939, in Chatham, N.H., to Angus and Dora Andrews. Her early years were spent on the farm in Stow, Maine, which provided her many happy memories. In 1946, the family moved to Greenville, Maine where Dottie attended school and formed treasured friendships.

Dottie married Lewis Smith and they started a family, and moved to Sand-point in 1968. Dottie loved the area and spent her time making friends, keeping house, and raising her children. Lew died in 1980, and Dottie and the children chose to stay in North Idaho.

Dottie’s greatest enjoyments were her family, friends, and work. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren better than anyone could.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Smith of Spokane, Wash.,; two daughters, Kristi Thompson of Moyie Springs, Idaho, and Karla (Mike) Fowler of Cheney, Wash.; two brothers, Angus Andrews of California, and Leon Andrews of Florida; two sisters, Peggy Darke of Delaware and Derina Buzzell of Maine; and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dottie followed into heaven her parents; older sister, Mona Worster; youngest brother, Rodney Rodrigue; and son-in-law, Kenneth Thompson. Most importantly she is reunited with her precious sons, Kent and Kelly; and the thought of her holding them is a comfort to her family.

The family would like to thank Dottie’s friends and neighbors for their thoughts, prayers and love.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Dottie’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
