Obama failing to live up to the golden rule

| February 10, 2010 8:00 PM

My parents taught me to live by the golden rule. Don’t lie. Don’t cheat. Don’t steal. It seemed to me that most parents tried to instill these traits in their children, but apparently I was wrong.

I was taught not to show respect for those who lie, cheat and steal, but now there are many who do. I say this because we have a president who lies, cheats and steals with regularity, and is still respected by many.

His lies are so numerous I can’t cover them all. He said he would eliminate earmarks and signed a bill with about 9,000 of them in his first week in office. He said there would be no lobbyists in his administration. He has 20 to 30 of them. He said health care negotiations would be covered on C-SPAN. They were held behind closed doors with Republicans excluded. At these closed door sessions he bribed people to get their votes. That is cheating. It is also stealing, since he used our money to bribe with.

So the president is a liar, cheat and thief.

What disgusts me the most is that he took an oath of office. He said he would, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Anyone who has read the Constitution can see this is the biggest lie of all.

If you respect this man, you were not raised as I was.
