Benefit owes success to community's heart

| February 15, 2010 8:00 PM

Dear Greater Sandpoint Community,

Fraternal Order of Police Bonner County Panhandle Lodge 15 would like to thank you for the success of the Jimmy Cruse Benefit Dinner at the Ponderay Events Center on Friday evening, Jan. 22, 2010. This event, a combined effort by the FOP, Bonner County Sheriff’s GUILD, and the Sheriff’s Department itself, was extremely well attended. While I do not as yet have exact figures as to how much was collected, it appears that it was a significant sum to help Jimmy Cruse and his family in their time of need. The community has shown its compassion for a Deputy Sheriff who has suffered a serious illness, one from which we all pray he will eventually recover.

Alphabetically: Major thanks to Jim Drake, Beth Dunlap, Diane Elsfelder, Christian Frye, Joann Green, Doug Harris, Tim Hemphill, Phyllis Jay, Kurt Lehman, Bill McAuliffe, Mike Miracle, Darren Osborn, Cornel Rasor, Phil Stella, Nicole Vincent, Daryl Wheeler, Chris Yount, individual members of Safety-Peace Officers Retired To Sandpoint (SPORTS), numerous other volunteers and contributors in the law enforcement family, and last but not least, members of the public. The list goes on and on. Anyone I neglected to mention, please excuse my oversight.

This was a task well accomplished by a team effort to include members of the public.

Our prayers go out to Jim Cruse and his family.
