Take part in relay and help find cancer's cure

| February 15, 2010 8:00 PM

I know you’ve all heard the saying, “we’ve all been touched by cancer” and it’s true. Luckily, we all have a chance to ensure that the fight to find a cure for cancer continues. Many local people have been battling cancer and we have had some great fundraisers to help them with expenses as they fight the fight. Let’s keep that going!

The fact that they have treatment options is no accident. It is the result of research done to find a cure. That is where the American Cancer Society comes in. Each year we hold an 18-hour “Relay For Life” to raise money for ACS to continue research and provide outreach programs to cancer patients and families. So, if you can form a “Relay for Life” team and raise money in the fight against cancer, “do it for LeAnn.”If you are a business and can sponsor the event, “do it for Ernie.” If you see a team fundraising and can support them, “do it for Don.”

If you can come out to the Relay for Life kickoff today at the Masonic Lodge, “Do it for Buff. If you can come to the Relay for Life event on June 4-5, “do it for __________ (insert name).” We can all be a part of this and “do it for life.”
