Community support anchors Grad Night
As parents of graduating Sandpoint High School seniors this June, we wish to say it is very encouraging to see the parent’s Grad Night Committee’s progress in organizing not only the Safe and Sane Grad Night event at the Bonner County Fairgrounds, but the fundraising March 20 auction and dinner.
The auction and dinner is the main fundraiser for the Grad Night celebration. If you would like to help by making an auction donation please contact Carla Fister at 290-3627.
Grad Night could not be a success without your support. Tickets to this event are available at Sharon’s Hallmark and the Bonner County Daily Bee.
Yes, the entire event has been brought home where it belongs — in the community where businesses and individual families have been so supportive over the years.
Parents of seniors are being kept updated with mailings from the committee, such as the auction and dinner, which will be held this year in Panhandle State Bank’s community room, the Papa Murphy’s Pizza Grad Night dates on Feb. 24 and March 24, and the actual Grad Night party following the graduation ceremonies on June 12.
The Grad Night Committee is in the process of lining up entertainment and other special surprises for the grads. Various committees, which parents are invited to join, will oversee the continuing work.
If you wish to participate, the next Grad Night meeting will be in the Sandpoint High School library on Tuesday, March 2, at 5:30 p.m.
Appreciation should also go to the many local businesses who are participating full-fledged again this year, such as Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Litehouse (donating funds for each proof of purchase brought to the Litehouse Bleu Cheese Factory), and Schweitzer Mountain, with March 5 skiing lift tickets available for $8 at the Sand Creek/Schweitzer Conoco in Ponderay.
It really makes us proud, not only of our graduates, but of our community again being involved and backing this fine event.
