SANDPOINT — A Washington state man was charged with a felony drug offense after being locked out of a car with a stash of marijuana left in plain sight.

Joshua Michael Ingmire was arrested on New Year’s Eve and charged with possession of more than 4 ounces of pot.

The drugs were discovered after he and the vehicle’s registered owner sought assistance from security at Schweitzer Mountain Resort in opening the locked vehicle. A Mason jar filled with the drug was visible on the center console of the vehicle, a Bonner County sheriff deputy’s report said.

The vehicle’s owner fled on foot and Ingmire was detained, the report said. Ingmire, a 29-year-old from Spokane, told the deputy he was a licensed to dispense medical marijuana in Washington state.

A backpack in the vehicle held another Mason jar half-filled with pot, a digital scale, packaging materials, a water pipe and documents with Ingmire’s name on them, the report indicated.
