Disabled woman tied up, robbed

| January 6, 2010 8:00 PM

BLANCHARD — A wheelchair-bound Blanchard woman was tied up early Wednesday  by two suspects who broke into her home searching for prescription drugs.

Bonner County Sheriff’s Lt. Doug Harris said Cynthia White, 59, was asleep on her couch when the pair forced their way into her Cedar View Estates home at 3:49 a.m. The pair put White into her wheelchair, bound her, and searched the home for prescription drugs.

After searching the home and finding the prescription drugs, Harris said the pair untied White and left the residence. White was unable to give a description of the suspects.

She was not injured during the home invasion, but was very shook up by the incident, he said.

A U.S. Border Patrol K-9 was brought in to track the suspects and was able to follow their scent to a nearby road where it is believed the pair had a vehicle waiting for them, Harris said.

Harris said he has two Bonner County Sheriff’s investigators working the case.
