Thornton leads Wampus Cats past Miners
WALLACE — Brocklynn Thornton dropped in a season-high 16 points, leading Clark Fork to a 54-27 drubbing of Wallace Thursday night in North Star League basketball at Wallace High School.
Shaina Gustafson reached double digits in steals for the fifth time this year, grabbing 10 to go with eight assists and seven points. Zara Palmer chipped in 10 points and Chelsea Macumber had eight points and six rebounds to lead the streaking Wampus Cats (9-4, 4-0 NSL).
“Brocklynn just had a great game inside,” said head coach Dexter Vogel of his sophomore post. “We just passed the ball well and had some good looks at the basket.”
Clark Fork held the Miners to just eight second half points in a dominating defensive effort. They host Stillwater Christian today, with the JV games slated to start at 1:30 p.m.
