Career politicians wrecking country

I have been trying to find the reason(s) behind the problems in our country’s government. It came to me that there is really only one central reason that has prevented us from solving the multitude of problems even though there are sane, responsible solutions.

When you look at the problems there is one glaring commonality between them, career politicians. These politicians really only have one agenda and that is to be reelected.

Unfortunately we, the electorate, have to take some responsibility in this matter as we, in general, continually put them back in office. And why do we continue to do this. To me it is simple. They continue to say what we want to hear and not what we need to hear. That is, they make laws that make everyone feel good or provide some entitlement but not what is really necessary for the good of the country.

Although I had believed this in part for a long time a statement by Nancy Pelosi made it abundantly clear that this is the norm. She stated “I am always in campaign mode.” How can one objectively make responsible law when they are concerned how the electorate will respond. You know, they might not get reelected and they would actually have to go get a job.

Our Founding Fathers never intended for anyone to be a career politician. The intent was that we all serve at some point. I believe that this was their prophetic wisdom, an attempt to prevent what is currently happening. And the only way I believe it can be realized is to NOT reelect anyone currently in office, regardless of party. If nothing else it will slow down the demise of our country and the freedoms we still have and at best it will start to turn things around get back to the Constitution as it was intended. We still live in the best country on this planet. Let’s not loose it to apathy and greed.
