Rachel Dallas, 18

| January 13, 2010 8:00 PM

Rachel, beloved daughter of John and Laura Dallas of Cocolalla, Idaho, passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010.

Rachel was born Nov. 16, 1991, in Lake Arrowhead, Calif. Rachel came into this world early and has now tragically left the world early, too.

During her short 18 years she was a flame that burned very brightly. She had a great passion for life and new experiences; she made a difference in so many lives by just being Rachel.

Moving to Idaho in 1997, she was involved in the local Sandpoint Soccer Association and Sandpoint Junior Miss program.

Rachel graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2009. Rachel was accepted to the University of Idaho with many academic scholarships and was enjoying her first semester on campus as a biology major. She was excited to return to school in the following days.

On campus at the University of Idaho, Rachel was an active member of AWSUM, a multi-cultural women’s group. Rachel also enjoyed hip hop dancing, drawing, snowboarding and spending time with her friends.

Rachel is survived by her father and mother, John and Laura Dallas; her aunts and uncle, Tina and Bob Jones, Diane Linker and Karen Juhlke; and her cousins, Jacki Juhlke, Hillary Jones, Allison Jones, Gina Campbell, Steve Linker and Jon Linker. She also is survived by her boyfriend, James Tupper; as well as many good friends of both Sandpoint and Moscow, and her extended family of Cocolalla Loop.

God Bless you Rachel — you will forever be in our hearts and you will be very missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, Rachel would have wanted donations given in her name to www.theanimalrescuesite.com or Panhandle Animal Shelter.

Services will be held at Coffelt Funeral Home in Sandpoint on Monday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Barry Johnson of New Song Bible Church, officiating. Private interment will follow at a later time in Westmond Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to sign Rachel’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
