Wampus Cat girls fall to Post Falls JV

| January 19, 2010 8:00 PM

CLARK FORK — Kat Clancy dropped in a game-high 16 points, and freshman Dani Failor added 12 to lead the Post Falls JV to a 49-23 nonleague win over host Clark Fork on Tuesday night.

Zara Palmer scored six, Jessica Cartmell pulled down eight rebounds and Celeste Komanec grabbed six steals to lead the Wampus Cats (11-5) in the losing effort. The Cats, whose five losses have come against 3A classification and higher teams, were without scoring leader Shaina Gustafson, who was visiting Souther Oregon on a basketball recruiting visit.

“Without our point guard, the girls did a really good job handling the press, which Post Falls kept on until the end,” said Cats coach Dexter Vogel. “The girls are coming together and looking good.”

Clark Fork hosts Mullan on Jan. 29.
