Learn the truth before slamming broadcaster
Referencing Curtis Hewston’s letter (Jan. 19). Mr. Hewston, after I read your letter about silencing Rush Limbaugh I made a quick assumption that you either heard what another network had paraphrased or were injecting your own twist on his statements.
Having not heard the show the day of the broadcast I decided to go Rush’s Web site and listen to the archive of the show. As I suspected you were wrong. Rush never said don’t donate to Haiti. What he said was if you are going to donate do it outside of the government. He also stated that your tax dollars are already donating to Haiti as Obama has promised $100 million for relief and reconstruction.
In addition you wanted KSPT to drop Rush, which I took simply as a personal wish because you do not agree with him. I have seen this tactic many times in the past by liberals, who are supposed to be open thinkers, when the voice they hear is in contradiction to their beliefs.
In closing I can only say this; be glad you have the right to voice your opinion and the ability to exercise your right to not listen to someone on the radio by turning it off.
