State withdraws probation violation

SANDPOINT — A probation violation has been dismissed against a Bonner County woman connected to the shooting death of a Priest Lake man.

The state withdrew the violation against Tyrah Brea Harding on Monday, according to court documents.

Harding, 28, who is on probation for accessory to second-degree murder and grand theft, was accused of taking a pickup truck without the owner’s permission. Harding told a judge she was being assaulted during a domestic dispute last month and took the truck to flee to safety.

Harding’s defense attorney is working to have her probation transferred to Montana, where she has family and a lingering legal matter to clear up.

Harding was charged in connection the 2007 shooting death of Leslie Carlton Breaw in Coolin. She pleaded guilty to a reduced murder charge and was released after spending about two years in jail awaiting trial.

Harding’s former husband, Keith Allen Brown, is scheduled to be tried this year on charges of first-degree murder and grand theft by possession of stolen property. Brown’s trial has been moved to Shoshone County because of extensive pretrial publicity in the case.

Brown, 49, maintains he is innocent of murder and grand theft.
