Lyle R. Pardee, 76, passed away very suddenly, on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint, Idaho. Interment will be in the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash.
Lyle was born on Nov. 16, 1933 in Inglewood, Calif., to Alfred and Lillian Pardee. He grew up and attended schools in Inglewood. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-55, part of which was spent in Korea.
Lyle worked with his father applying plaster and stucco siding. He later opened a heating and air conditioning business in Concord, Calif.
On July 18, 1970, Lyle married Barbara Foerstel in Reno, Nev.
He worked as a long-haul truck driver until his retirement in 1994, when they moved to Idaho.
Lyle and Barbara then purchased acreage in North Idaho and built a home. He was an avid outdoorsman, which included hunting, riding ATVs, raising dogs, loading ammunition, and skeet shooting.
Some of his favorite pastimes included spending time with friends, playing “21,” attending gun shows, and watching sports, especially football and NASCAR. He was a member of the Kootenai Valley Sportsman Association, National Rifle Association, and was a past member of the Elks Lodge in Inglewood.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Pardee of Sandpoint; two sons, Max Pardee of Dana Point, Calif., and Keith (Jan) Pardee of Carmichael, Calif.; three step-daughters, Loraine Foerstel of Naples, Idaho, Cinda Foerstel of Sandpoint, and Lynette (Dan) Nelson of Vancouver, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Velma Masner of Mountain Home, AR; and mother-in-law, Virginia Williams of Sandpoint.
