White hot Lakers run win streak to 10 games

SANDPOINT — Nick Halpin had a double and three RBIs to lead the Peak Sand and Gravel Lakers to a come-from-behind 13-9 win over Moscow Tuesday night at War Memorial Field, running the surging Lakers’ winning streak to 10 games.

Fresh off a rock-solid win at the Wooden Bat tournament over the weekend, the Lakers (13-9) started the game with some seldom used pitchers and promptly gave up seven early runs before bringing in Cole Tonnemacher, who pitched the final five innings to pick up the victory.

Joel Cramer showed his tremendous outfield range by making a running over-the-shoulder catch at 400 feet, one of a handful of defensive gems from the speedy centerfielder.

Tonnemacher continued his torrid hitting, wrapping a double and driving in two runs, Tyler Gordon continues to produce in the middle of the lineup with a double and two RBIs, and Cramer knocked in two as well in the balanced offensive effort.

The second game of the doubleheader was still in progress at press time.
