Catherine Mable Penrod, 85
Catherine Mable Penrod, 85, passed away July 3, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Catherine was born March 7, 1925, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Bertram and Mable Durand.
She was raised and went to school in Sandpoint. During World War II, she lived in Seattle and worked for Boing Aircraft driving a rivet truck.
In 1925, Catherine married Jesse Penrod and they made their home in Sandpoint.
Catherine worked for Idaho First National Bank for many years, and then for The Sandpoint Manor, until she was injured in an accident and became a paraplegic in 1976.
She loved gardening, crafts, her cats and spending time with her family.
Catherine was the youngest of seven children, all of who have proceeded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, in September 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Knudtsen, and granddaughters, Brianna and Cailyn Knudtsen, all of Coeur d’Alene; and son, Douglas Penrod of Clark Fork; and several nieces and one nephew.
At her request, no services will be held.
