Linda Hendren, 57
Sterling, Alaska, resident Linda Hendren, 57, died quietly at home in Sterling with her husband at her side on July 6, 2010, after a four-year battle with breast cancer.
At her request, her body will be cremated and her ashes spread in Lake Pend Oreille at Sandpoint, Idaho, with family members present.
No other services are planned.
Linda was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Sand-point.
She moved to Anchor-age, Alaska, 36 years ago, where she lived prior to moving 12 years ago to Sterling.
She retired in 2009 after a 36-year career with Safeway Stores in Anchorage and Soldotna.
“Linda will be remembered by her family and friends for her great little ‘giggle.’ She was always happy even while suffering with her illness.” her family said.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Chaney.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Guy Hendren of Sterling; mother, Eleanor Chaney of Sandpoint; her brothers, Rick Chaney of Aberdeen, Wash. and Jack Chaney of Sandpoint; stepsons, Bret Hendren of Anchorage and Brad Hendren of Lavaca, Ark.; a nephew, Nicholas Chaney; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai, Alaska.
