CLARK FORK — Two people on a motorcycle were injured Wednesday in a collision with a motorist who cut them off on Highway 200 east of town.

Idaho State Police said Alan J. Dahl was riding westbound with a passenger but Lynn R. Morales failed to see them and turned in front of them. Morales was eastbound and attempting to turn north onto Bear Hill Road.

Dahl’s 2004 Honda crashed into the side of Morales’ 1979 Dodge pickup truck.

The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m., about five miles from the Montana border.

Dahl, 57, was injured in the collision and state police said he was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to Bonner General Hospital. His passenger, 52-year-old Tammy S. Dahl, was also injured and taken to Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene. State police did not specify is she was helmeted during the crash.

Tammy Dahl was in good condition on Thursday, KMC spokeswoman Paula Davenport said. The Dahls are from Brookings, Ore., ISP said.

Morales, 67, of Clark Fork, was not injured in the collision, state police said.

Alcohol was not a factor, according to ISP. No record of a citation being filed in connection with the crash could be found in the Idaho Statewide Trial Court Records System terminal in Bonner County on Thursday.
