Ralph Larry Galloway, 62, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Kenneth Tappen of Delta Junction, Alaska, will officiate with interment in the Seneacquoteen Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

Ralph was born in Coeur d’Alene on Dec. 17, 1947, the son of Ervin and Clara Belle (Crabb) Galloway, and attended schools in North Idaho. He served four years with the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, aboard the USS Ticonderoga.

He worked, as a millwright, for numerous sawmills in North Idaho for many years. He also drove truck for Consolidated Freight and Wes Olson Trucking, retiring April 1 of this year.

He married Frances Symons in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 15, 1974, and was a member of the Community of Christ in Sagle, Idaho.

He was a member of the Teamsters International Union, local 690 and the KMC Caring Clowns. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his family.

Ralph is survived by his wife, of 36 years, Frances Galloway; two children, Patrick Lawrence and Sylvia L. (and Jason) Whipple; a grandson, Spencer Price Whipple; and numerous others who called him Dad or Grandpa. Also surviving are his mother, Clara Belle Galloway; three brothers, Bert, Joseph, and Bill Galloway; and three sisters, Alice Birch, Peggy Christenson, and Barbara Galloway.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin; and a son, Spencer Larry Galloway.
