Barbara J. (Ulrich) McCrum, 88

Barbara J. (Ulrich) McCrum, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 in her Sandpoint, Idaho, home after a short illness.

She was born in that same home on Oct. 11, 1921, to Leonard E. and Margaret Ulrich, and she married Pat McCrum there on Sept. 18, 1944. Barb graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1939.

Barb and Pat moved to Seattle for a short time during World War II while Pat was stationed there in the Coast Guard. Other than those few months in Seattle, Barb spent her entire life in Sandpoint. She worked at Bi-Rite Drug, Bargain Supply and Emerald Maintenance.

Barb loved to entertain friends and relatives and was well known for her cooking, baking and brisk walks around town. She was active in the Lady Elks for a number of years.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, Pat McCrum; her sons, Rick (Linell), Tim (Robbin) and Mick (Cheri Jo); and her sister, Margaret Bergstrom all of Sandpoint. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian (Tami) McCrum of Sandpoint, Tara (Jed) Brady of Mesa, Ariz., Matt (Brittany) McCrum of Soldotna, Alaska, Jared McCrum of Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Ryan McCrum of Sandpoint; and her step-grandchildren, LeAnne Catala of Maui, Hawaii, Amanda Catala of Sandpoint and Garret Hall of Sandpoint. Barbara is survived by two great-grandchildren, Marlee McCrum of Sandpoint and Kaden Brady of Mesa as well as numerous nieces and nephews from Idaho, Washington, and Montana.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Ulrich.

 Family members invite friends, neighbors and relatives to join us in a celebration of Barb’s life at the family home, 422 Lake St., Sandpoint, Idaho, on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from noon to 4 p.m.
