Henry Edward “Eddy” Dawson, 74, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sunday, June 20, 2010.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 18, in the VFW Hall. A potluck will follow the service.

Eddy Dawson was born on Aug. 31, 1935, in Williston, N.D.,, the son of Brooks and Loretta Dawson. The family moved to Clagstone in 1945 and then to Sagle, Idaho, in 1948.

He attended Bonner County schools and then served with the US Army from 1953 until 1955 in Ft. Hood Texas

He worked as a union carpenter, cut firewood, and picked huckleberries.  Eddy was a “mountain man” that enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two brothers, Dallas Dawson of Sagle, and Brooks Dawson Jr., in Spokane, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol Lopez; and three brothers, Wesley, Emmett, and Noel.
