Lillian E. Linscott, 92, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Thursday, July 15, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel. Pastor Jon Pomeroy, Sandpoint Church of God, will officiate with interment following in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be on Monday, July 19, from noon until 6 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service.
Lillian was born on Aug. 24, 1917, in Broadus, Mont. the daughter of John and Olive Reynolds. She started school in a one-room schoolhouse in Hay Creek, Mont., and later attended high school in Sun-dance, Wyo.
The family moved to the Kootenai area in 1938 and she married Muriel Linscott on May 19, 1939. Muriel preceded her in death in 1969.
She cooked at the Kootenai School for many years and, on Jan. 24, 1970, she married Norman Linscott, Muriel’s brother.
She was a member of the Kootenai Better Community Club and a sewing leader in 4-H. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She loved to sew quilts for her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
On Aug. 24, 2007, Lillian celebrated her 90th birthday with her family and her friends.
Lillian is survived by her four children, Yvonne (and Marvin) Farley of Hansville, Wash., Belva Pierce of Sandpoint, Betty (and Del) Stansell of Hayden, Idaho, and Robert (and Elaine) Linscott of Sagle, Idaho; a stepson, Frank (and Carol) Linscott of Sagle; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Laurence (and Joy) Reynolds and Lloyd (and Sonjia) Reynolds, both of Priest River, Idaho; and a sister, Shirley (and Ed) Hammacher of Hope, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Muriel and Norman; and 6 siblings.
