Highway 200 traffic shifted
PONDERAY — Highway 200 traffic has been shifted to a new alignment as construction of the U.S. Highway 95 bypass.
Motorists are urged to use caution and obey flaggers’ commands as they make their way through the construction site. Grading, paving and striping of the temporary traffic lanes southeast of the highway.
Parsons is preparing to fabricate and install the bridge deck on the new Highway 200 overpass.
At the south end of the project, removal of the phase-two surcharge material for the Sandpoint off-ramp is done, as is the installation of fill on the railroad embankment at the north end of the Long Bridge.
Forms are being removed for the backwall/upper wing walls for abutment one of the main span bridge. Compacting backfilling will follow.
The concrete pour for the footing for the pre-cast concrete wall panels for the southbound off-ramp is complete. Wing wall form construction for abutment one of the Bridge Street overpass is also done and a concrete pour was done on Friday.
Wing wall form construction for abutment two continues this week with a concrete pour to follow.
Rebar is being installed for the cast-in-plae concrete wall face for the retaining wall along the east side of the Sandpoint Depot. Deep-soil mixing along the mainline wall is done. Coring of deep-soil mixing will follow.
Mass excavation of the Highway 200 northbound off-ramp is scheduled to begin this week.
