Juanita Drake Quigley, 97
Juanita Drake Quigley, 97, passed away at Life Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
Family services will be held later in Warsaw, Missouri.
Juanita was born on Aug. 6, 1912, in Larned, Kan., the daughter of Fred Drake and Etta Mae Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred; mother, Etta Mae Drake; step-mother, Agnes Drake; two brothers, Simpson Drake, and Frances Drake; a sister, Shirley Ann Drake; a daughter, Alma Baker; her first husband, Luther Quigley Sr.; her second husband ,Amos Gentry; grandparents, and her daughter-in-law, Charlene Quigley.
Juanita is survived by her sons, Luther Quigley Jr., and George Quigley; sisters, Sarah Lou and Lydia; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Drake; also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was a very busy person in her community. She received the Knights of Honor and Merit for District Deputy Grand Marshal in 1997 in Windsor, Mo. She received a certificate of appreciation from the American Legion for outstanding service.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, the White Shrine, and received the Grand Cross of Color for services to Rainbow Girls. She always volunteered her support to raise money for needy causes.
She attended school in Missouri, later working as a candy maker for Russell Stover Candies, and owned her own store in Lebanon, Mo. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Later, she moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, in 2004.
