Lorraine Arndt Chambers, 87, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Friday, July 23, 2010.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel.
Lorraine was born on May 16, 1923, in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Arthur and Winifred Arndt. She grew up around Fargo, N.D., and attended local schools there. She had lived in Kansas, Caldwell, Idaho; and the San Fernando Valley, Calif.
On June 26, 1955 she married James Chambers in Las Vegas, Nev., and they lived in Elko, Nev., from 1968 until 1988. The family moved to Sandpoint in 1988 and James preceded her in death in 1994.
Lorraine was a longtime volunteer at the Sandpoint Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her flower and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy (and Bert) Morgan in Hayden, Idaho, and Mary McGinnis of Sandpoint; three sons, James P. (and Jerry) Chambers of Hayden, Michael D. (and Shirley) Chambers of Reno, Nev., and Jeffrey Chambers of Sandpoint; grandchildren Morgan Chambers in Bountiful, Utah, Lori Morgan in Henderson, Nev., Bill Morgan of Bakersfield, Calif., Anthony Gililland of Oroville, Calif., and Amanda Gililland of Sparks, Nev.; and a great-granddaughter Kahlia Chambers of Bountiful.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Dorothy.
