Animal's 'rescue' only hurt beloved pet
This is addressed to the person who removed my 16-year-old cat from his 6-foot by 12-foot cage in my front yard on July 17 without knowing any of the circumstances.
How dare you invade someone else’s property even if you “thought” you were “rescuing” an animal. If you believed he need to be rescued, you should have called animal control. They, at least, would have investigated to see if he needed to be rescued. But no, you took it upon yourself.
I lost his companion in December. I knew he would be lonely, so I consulted the vet and the animal shelter for advice. They both told me not to move him because it would be too traumatizing at his extreme age.
Well, you traumatized him. I can tell by conditions in his cage that you had to fight and trap him to catch him.
I spend as much time with him as I can every day. His carrier and water are heated in the winter. He has more than enough shade and sunshine. He gets fed, watered, petted and talked to at least once a day and sometimes more. When it is hot, he gets fresh water early in the morning as well as in the evening when I feed him.
I hope you are very proud of yourself and I pray he is all right.
Think next time before you do someone else or an animal a disservice.
