| July 28, 2010 9:00 PM

MOSCOW — Having already won the game they needed to secure a berth to state, the Peak Sand and Gravel Lakers fell 9-6 to Moscow in the championship game of the American Legion District Tournament Saturday night in Moscow.

Joel Cramer capped a stellar tournament by going 2-4 and scoring two runs, and Cole Tonnemacher went 2-4 with a home run, but the Lakers (33-9) could not hold down Moscow, which earned the higher seed at state.

Andrew Pearlstein drove in three runs and Tyler Gordon added a double for the Lakers, and Tonnemacher took the loss to run his record on the season to 13-5.

The Lakers now turn their attention to the Idaho State “A” Legion tournament, where the top eight teams from the state will face off in a four-day tournament in Burley. The Lakers will open on Thursday, at 12:30 p.m. against the Emmett Blue Devils.
