Sneva takes trophy in cooking contest

SANDPOINT — The Sandpoint Summer Sampler brought favorite Sandpoint restaurants, wineries and breweries together in downtown Sandpoint to delight myriads of people with samples of their tastiest cuisines, wines, and brews.

To top off the evening, Litehouse Foods sponsored the annual cooking competition where chef Eddie Sneva brought the trophy home to Dish Home Cooking for a second year in a row.

Using a box of ingredients and ingenuity, the chefs were judged on presentation, creativity, flavor and use of supplied ingredients.

Eddie competed for the title against Jason Clarke of The Bistro Inn at Sand Creek. This was Clarke’s first year in the competition.

“I was nervous last year, but enjoyed myself more this year,” Sneva said. “I will definitely be back for next year’s competition.”

Chamber officials congratulated Sneva and are pleased he plans to return to defend his title. They said they are anxious to see what he has in store for the sixth annual Summer Sampler next year.
