Mass fluoridation is not the answer

| July 31, 2010 9:00 PM

Having just read Councilwoman Carrie Logan’s letter concerning the vote against her position concerning water fluoridation, I can’t help but to wonder at her choice of words. They sound eerily similar to Mr. Bordenave, the sole citizen who spoke out in favor of fluoridation and whose former group: NICAN used identical language to describe their dismay at the approval of the Sandcreek Byway as: “A Sad Day for Sandpoint.”

Mrs. Logan’s shocking detachment from reality and the wishes of the vast majority of her constituents makes one wonder as to her fitness to hold office come the next election. There is at least as much hard scientific evidence against mass fluoridation as there is in favor. There was no misrepresentation of these facts, anecdotal or otherwise.

Carrie Logan apparently supports the medication of everyone for the benefit of a tiny minority which even she admits many do not take advantage of fluoridation treatments offered through Medicaid.

It is a sad day for an individual with a holier-than-thou attitude and no professional credentials, to want to dictate a course of action for all of us. One wonders if this attitude is inspired by some type of personnel gain? Would you advocate the adding of antibiotics to our water if the AMA and the CDC said it would be best to prevent infections after an injury?

Yes, madam, it is a matter of personal choice. The government has no right to tell me I am to be medicated, like it or not, especially when it does not pose a danger to others you want your kids and grandkids to be medicated, fine, but don’t make me take it against my will.
