Dixie Nadine Machado, 87, passed away at Life Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho, on June 1, 2010.

Dixie Nadine Machado was born Nov. 1, 1922, in Norwood, Colo., the daughter of John Henry Osborne and Chrissie Hilda (Bankston) Osborne.
She was raised in Colorado and attended school in Denver and Norwood, Colo.
4Dixie was married to Marvin Thomas Irving on June 1, 1942, in Ouray, Colo. They left with his family to live and work in California. She was a welder in the shipyards during World War II.
Dixie and Marvin had four children, Daniel Leroy, John Michael, Sandra Louise and Timothy Paul. After Marvin’s death she met and married Alfred Eugene Machado. They had two sons, Alfred Eugene II and Anthony Wayne.
Dixie worked in the Oakland Public Library System as a librarian assistant for 25 years, until she retired and moved with her daughter to Sagle, Idaho. She enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, and spending time with her family.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marvin Thomas Irving and Alfred Eugene Machado; her brothers, John Ellis, Edgar Samuel and Marvin Joseph; a sister, Edith Constance Donovan; her sons, Daniel Leroy Irving and John Michael Irving; and granddaughter, Leah Katherine Irving.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Irving-Alamillo; sons, Timothy Paul Irving, Alfred Eugene Machado and Anthony Wayne Machado; daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen Irving, Monica Irving and Lanaye Irving; a son-in-law, Jose P. Alamillo;, five grandsons, seven granddaughters, and 23 great-grandchildren. Dixie will be missed.
