SHS tennis, track teams announce season awards

SANDPOINT — With the spring sports season recently wrapping up, local high school teams are celebrating with the annual end of the season awards banquets.

The Bulldog track and tennis teams recently held their respective banquets, with coaches announcing the individual honors.

n Sandpoint track team

Most Valuable Track Athlete — Melinda Van Dyk for the girls and Danny Pfeifer for the boys.

Most Valuable Field Athlete — Christina Johnson and Mike Hubbard.

Coaches’ Awards Throws — Shane Kidd.

Coaches’ Award  Sprints — Elli Kiselica, Sean Hogan and Blake Plaster.

Coaches’ Award  Jumps — Susan Kovalchuk and Jenny Meulenberg.

Coaches’ Award  Distance — Jimmy Matthews, Hope Woodruff and Brandon Hawkins.

Best Athlete Award — Piper Wahlin and Ben Hardy.

Bulldog Award (coaches’ MVP) — Sophia Meulenberg and Kevin Kirby.

Most Improved — Mica Wolcott and Kane Wijngaarden.

Scholar-Athlete Award — Danette Mauch and Mikka Nostdahl.
