Washington man dies in rollover

SAGLE — Idaho State Police is investigating a crash on Bottle Bay Road that claimed the life of a Washington state man on Thursday.

The crash occurred sometime between midnight and 8:40 a.m., when the wreckage was discovered.

State police said Scott D. Whittaker was eastbound when his Ford F-150 pickup truck went off the left shoulder, struck a rock and rolled down a steep, rocky embankment.

Whittaker’s overturned pickup was discovered in the 5600 block of Bottle Bay.

Whittaker, 57, of Liberty Lake, was found dead in the cab of the pickup. State police said Whittaker was wearing a seat belt and the crash remains under investigation.
