Community garden needs your vote
The Sandpoint Transition Initiative (STI) has entered into a contest to win a $25,000 grant to expand it’s Community Garden Program. We need your vote to make this happen.
Two grants valued at $50,000 will be awarded on June 30, 2010 to two communities that submit an essay and photos explaining the importance of establishing community gardens. We’ve done that part. Now we need your vote! The top five vote getters will qualify and then two communities will be chosen to receive the grants. Votes must be in by today, June 15.
All it takes to vote for the Sandpoint Community Garden Grant is to go online and paste this link (http://www.justmeans.com/contestidea?ideaid=NjYw) into your browser and voila, the voting page appears. Click on the vote button and then fill out the very brief voting form and your vote is cast.
This is a great opportunity to support and expand the Community Garden Project just by donating your vote. This year’s garden was “sold out” in early May which begs the question, “Do we need another Community Garden?”. Winning this grant will allow us to create another organic garden with the assistance of Nature’s Path (sponsor of the grant) and Organic Gardening Magazine.
It only takes a moment to vote and help us guarantee the creation of another organic garden in the greater Sandpoint area. This truly is an opportunity to have your vote count and become a part of fulfilling the vision of the STI Community Garden Project.
