Obama's inexperience is hurting the country
Bob Wynhausen’s letter (June 17) began with an absolutely dead-on to the crux of it question: “Can Obama do anything right?” He further stated that “if you listen to people on the right, the answer is clearly no.”
That’s correct, Bob, and I have framed your letter in monument to this being the first known instance of that occurrence, though your letter did continue on without attempting to identify anything right Obama had done.
I would point out that it is theoretically possible that Obama could do something right, its just that as time has marched on, the likelihood seems more and more remote.
From nearly quadrupling the once-maligned (especially by the right) Bush deficits, to goofily declaring on his first day in office he would close Gitmo, to buying control with our tax money of GMC and Chrysler, as well as a bunch of banks, to proposing and managing to pass tax hikes and demonize the future of business with the monstrous health care thing in the throes of a serious recession … well, the list is long, but absolutely none of what has been done has been “right.”
Still, conservatives are optimists, and cling to a slender thread of hope that this most inexperienced president in US history will not also claim the trophy as the most inept and incompetent as well.
I had always prayed there would never be a president who made Jimmy Carter look good.
