Lakers' offense bombards St. Maries in doubleheader
St. MARIES — The Peak Sand and Gravel Lakers had the offense in full gear, sweeping a doubleheader at St Maries 16-0 and 18-6 on Tuesday night.
Cole Tonnemacher pitched a complete game two-hit shutout in the openner for his fifth win of the season, and provided his own run support by smashing his eighth home run of the season and driving in three.
Scott Snow, who returned to action after ski practice at Mt. Hood, added two doubles and Joel Cramer went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Nearly every Laker player scored a run and Tonnemacher was backed by solid defense all around.
Garrett Morris started the second game and Sean Conlin provided three solid innings of middle relief, earning his first win of the season. Tevin Hamilton closed it out with two scoreless innings. Corey Neer and Cole Tonnemacher each hit two doubles to lead the offense, while Cramer added three RBIs. Tyler Gordon also added a rocket of a double to the centerfield fence.
The Lakers (14-6) are now heading to the 40-team Spokane Wood Bat Tournament over Independence Day Weekend.
