Community made benefit a success

| March 6, 2010 8:00 PM

Dear Happy Agers Senior Citizens Center & Priest River Community,

Fraternal Order of Police Panhandle Lodge 15 would like to thank you for the success of the Jimmy Cruse Benefit Spaghetti Dinner at the Happy Agers Priest River Senior Citizens Center on Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 2010.

Special thanks to Gary Bell, Happy Agers President; Karla Hatfield; Bob Hatfield; Robyn Anderson; Roxanna Airola; Larry Lawrence; and Sandy Lawrence. Special thanks to Rick Mainar from AJ’s Restaurant, who made the great spaghetti sauce. Thanks to Priest River Times Managing Editor Terri Ivie who ran community service announcements to let everyone know about the event.

Significantly, there was no out of pocket expense to our Lodge; all proceeds will be for the benefit of the family.

Bear in mind the purpose of this event was to raise funds for a Bonner County Deputy Sheriff, Jimmy Cruse and his family. Jim is no longer able to work because of a serious illness. We are hoping he will eventually recover, and return to his position with the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.

Above all, thanks to the Priest River community, and from citizens from all over Bonner County, for supporting this cooperative effort to help a member of the law enforcement community.

In closing, let me reiterate our thanks to Gary Bell; he took the ball and ran with it in this endeavor.
