Joe E. Stevens, 58

Joe E. Stevens, 58, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

Joe was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Jan. 17, 1952, the son of Ray and Margaret Stevens. 

Joe graduated from the eighth grade at Northside School and then Sandpoint High School in 1970.

Following high school he served with the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1974. He served a military police officer in northern California.

Joe and Sharon Carnegie were married and she preceded him in death in 2009.  He worked in the family logging business for many years, retiring in 1995 due to health issues. 

Joe was a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed hunting deer and elk.

Joe is survived by his mother, Margaret Stevens; four brothers, Bill (and Jerri) Stevens, John (and Loretta) Stevens, Paul (and Ruthie) Stevens, and Gary (and Lynn) Stevens; his sister, Laurel (and David) Arnold; eight step-children, Rocky (and Neta) Eveland, Nancy (and Don) Metcalf, Rita (and Vance) Stapleton. Carlotta (and Jim) Martin, Clayton (and Penny) Eveland, Rennie Eveland, Clinton Eveland, Laura (and Dave Kindall) Eveland, other relatives and many, many friends.

Family services will be held at a later date.
