| March 8, 2010 8:00 PM

Bir-della B. “Della” Hoskins, 96, passed away in Sand-point, Idaho, on Saturday, March 6, 2010.

Della was born in Clayton, N.M., on June 26, 1913, the daughter of David and Sadie Benton. She lived in Clayton for 37 years and then moved to Vallejo, Calif., and then to San Diego, where she lived for 29 years. She returned to New Mexico, living in Maxwell for 22 years.

In 2001, she split her time between her home in New Mexico and her home in Anchorage, Alaska. Della moved to Sandpoin in 2004. She lived at the Bridge Assisted Living, where the staff quickly became like family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Della liked quilting and she bowled for more than 40 years and was very proud of her high game of 253. In Sandpoint, you usually could find her outside walking her usual route come rain or shine. She loved to visit with everyone!

She is survived by her son, Ronald Hoskins in Anchorage; three granddaughters, Janet (and Clayton) Meserve of Sandpoint, Debbie (and Harry) Richards of Virginia Beach, Va.,; and Kelly (and Ken) Beavers of Bakersfield, Calif.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald E. Smith; and a brother and two sisters.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Clayton.

Family and friends are invited to sign Della’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
