Fundraising event was heartwarming to see
In a time when everyone is trying to make ends meet, we find that is the same situation at our own local shelter for abused and neglected children. This year Kinderhaven finds itself $70,000 short in meeting its budgetary demands.
That is one reason it was heartwarming to see so many people join us for a special day on Jan. 23 when the community came out to do yoga and to raise money for Kinderhaven. The event was the mastermind of Julia Quinn and Twisted Root Yoga.
What’s really impressive is that Julia, and her husband Dan, are new to the area. They have already embraced what is so wonderful about where we live — the generosity and caring spirit of our community. Kinderhaven will not turn any child who needs us away, so each and every dollar is even more precious to us this year.
Our community is very fortunate to have people like Julia donate her time with Twisted Root Yoga to support the abused and neglected kids in our community. Welcome to Sandpoint and thank you for setting a wonderful example of what it means to be a member of this community.
