Marie (Inman) Sims, 75

Marie (Inman) Sims, 75, passed away on Wednesday March 3, 2010, in Roseburg, Ore.,  in the presence of family and friends after a prolonged illness.

Marie was born Nov. 22, 1934, to Fred and Helen Thomas in Hope, Idaho, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1952.

After graduating, she married her first husband, William Inman, and went to work at the Bonner County Courthouse, where she worked for about eight years. She later went to work for the U.S. Forest Service, where she worked at the Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Libby, Mont., offices. She then transferred to the Roseburg, office after her marriage to Robert Sims in May 1986, where she eventually retired in 2007.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and half-brother, Allen Scholz.

She is survived by half-sisters, Ann Wells and Jennie Nye of Missoula, Mont.; step-sister, Audrey (Jack) Cooke of Sandpoint; and sons, Robert Inman of Lacey, Wash., and Walter (Darlene) Inman of Sandpoint. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Shawn Inman, Jennifer (Gregory) Leverich and Jeremy (Autumn) Inman, all of Sandpoint; and five great-grandchildren, Trinity Hathaway, Mikayla Inman, Jaidyn Inman, Zachary Leverich, Alexander Leverich; her very close friend and neighbor, Hilah Ahnstrom of Roseburg; and numerous family and friends from Idaho, Montana, Washington and Oregon.

Private family services will be held later this spring.
