Discount golfing card offered in Bonner County

| May 12, 2010 9:00 PM

SANDPOINT — For the second consecutive year, the Bonner County Golf and Recreation Committee is offering a golf discount card, with all proceeds going to help the group’s goal of establishing an 18 hole public golf course near Sandpoint.

The discount card costs just $25, and entitles the holder to 25 percent discounts on summer green fee rates at The Links, Priest River Golf Course and Creston, B.C. The card will pay for itself in just three rounds, and provides area golfers with more playing alternatives.

Committee member Don Holland says the card’s benefits are twofold: Getting local golfers better rates and helping the group raise money to help establish a community course in Bonner County.

“Our goal is to develop affordable and permanent golf and additional recreational opportunities to all citizens of Bonner County,” said Holland, noting a sight has been located but is still in non-disclosure. “We’ve ID’d a piece of land and are working on a master plan.”

The cards can be purchased at Travel America Conoco in Sagle, Merwin’s Hardware, Pro-Builders and Hallin’s Gallery.
