Verna June Jacobson, 83

Verna June Jacobson, 83, of Sandpoint, Idaho, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at The Bridge.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010, at Lakeview Cemetery, with Wayne Gunter, officiating.

Verna was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Walsh, Colo., the daughter of Vernice and Delma Bewley Lock. She moved with her family to the Sagle area as a young child. She attended schools in Sagle, Idaho, and Sandpoint, Idaho.

On April 10, 1943, she married Frank Jacobson in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Together they raised their family in Sagle.

In 1974 they moved to Coeur d’Alene, where she lived until 2008 when, due to ill health, she moved back to Sandpoint to be near her family.

Verna dearly loved children and for many years after her husband’s death in 1982 she provided child care in her home.

Verna enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking.

Verna is survived by five children, Linda (Jack) Lindsey of Spokane, Wash., Terry Jacobson of Sagle, David (Nicki) Jacobson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Nita (Brad) Allard of Sagle, and Susan (Kevin) Dreier of Sandpoint; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Joanie (Bob) Butler of Spokane, Wash., Vera Kolegraf of Bremerton, Wash., and Dee Lock of Spokane; and by many nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Bud; and a son, Jimmy.
