Hubbard, Kiselica lead Bulldog track teams early lead

LEWISTON — Elli Kiselica and Mike Hubbard each jumped season-bests to win the high jump, helping lead the Bulldogs boys and girls track teams to first day leads at the 4A Region 1-2 track meet at Lewiston High School.

Hubbard jumped 6-2, and Kiselica 5-0, part of a strong showing by the Bulldogs, with the girls holding a three point lead over Lakeland and the boys a 30-15 edge over second place Moscow.

Christina Johnson won the shot put, and finished second in the discus, Kiselica, Melinda Van Dyk, Blake Plaster and Emma Carter teamed up to win the medley relay, Jennie Meulenberg was second in the long jump and Maddie Suppiger second in the high jump to round out the top Bulldog girls places.

Danny Pfeifer won the 3,200, Hubbard doubled up to win the long jump, Dillon Gingerich won the triple jump, Shane Kidd won the shot put to round out the Bulldog boys champions.

Most of the running events will be held today, as the two-day meet wraps up and teams secure as many invitations to next week’s state meet as possible.
