Van Dyk, Pfeifer lead Bulldogs

LEWISTON — Melinda Van Dyk won the 100 hurdles and teamed with Elli Kiselica, Mikaila Bristow and Blake Plaster to win the 4x100 relay to lead the Sandpoint girls at the 4A Region 1-2 track championships in Lewiston on Friday.

Susan Kovalchuk won the pole vault, and Bristow, Kiselica, Anna Guida and Cymbre Martin teamed to win the 4x200 to cap a strong showing by the girls team.

Danny Pfeifer, Jimmy Mathews and David Marienau swept the podium in a strong display in the 1,600 to lead the Bulldog boys team.

A host of Bulldogs qualified for next week’s state championships.
