Catherine Lagazo Soria-Fehsel, beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt, was surrounded by family members when she passed away on Friday, May 7, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho, due to cancer.

Cathy was born on May 30, 1958, in Baguio City, Philippines, and immigrated to the United States in 1979. She lived in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and California before moving to Sandpoint in 1989.

She loved to sing, dance and play guitar, excelled at sewing, gourmet cooking, flower gardening and was an avid tennis player. Cathy had an adventurous spirit, enjoying travels in countries around the Carib-bean as well as living and working in the Virgin Islands and Hawaii on Maui and Kauai.

She found joy and inspiration in the beauty and wonders of nature.

With a gentle approach to life, Cathy brought love and laughter to each undertaking and took great pride in her family heritage.

She is survived by her husband and daughter, Jim and Tala, of Hope; four sisters and three brothers, Cynthia (Larry) Gordon, Norma Soria, Clark (Minnie) Soria, Art (Susette) Soria, Rey (Gigit) Soria, Jennifer Massey, and Madeline (Keith) Guernsey; five nieces and five nephews, Lance (Ami) Gordon, Zenaida (Ben) Reyes, Dawn (Byron) Evangelista, James Soria, Carlo Soria, Anna Soria, Graciella Soria, Rafael Soria, Paulo Soria, and Patricia Soria; two grand nieces and two grand nephews, Taryn Reyes, Royce Reyes, Braylon Reyes and Hannah Evangelista; sister-in-law, Laura (Gary) Young; and parents-in-law, Oscar and Antoinette Fehsel. It is with sincere gratitude that her family would like to acknowledge and thank Cathy’s Litehouse coworkers who donated their accrued time for her benefit. Their compassion and generosity was an astounding gesture of aid and support.
