Auburn Crest Hospice expands into county

| May 19, 2010 9:00 PM

Auburn Crest Hospice is proud to be personal.

The Idaho-based, family owned and managed company prides itself on knowing each and every client, their family and caregivers on a first-name basis.

Care is individualized for each client and ACH’s hospice program focuses on providing extraordinary customer service while managing complex end-of-life issues.

“We enjoy being able to devote personalized attention to our clients and their loved ones,” says Lisa Turpin, Patient Care Coordinator for Auburn Crest Hospice. “The hospice philosophy of care is our passion and we are excited to be able to offer ACH’s exceptional services to Bonner County residents.”

Auburn Crest Hospice, which is based in Post Falls, received Joint Commission Accreditation in December 2008 and has established a strong network of partners in Kootenai and Shoshone Counties. Kootenai County and Bonner County are served under Dr. Brian Snyders, medical eirector and Shoshone County is served under Dr. Ronald Dorchuck, associate medical director.  Auburn Crest Hospice is also unique in that every client is visited in their home by their hospice physician within a few days of admission and as necessary while on service.

“We describe our medical eirectors as family-friendly physicians who believe in being actively engaged in family counseling, client visits and education while working well with client’s primary care physicians,” said Michelle Cardwell, R.N. and director of nursing. “It is that individual attention that allows patients and families to rest, enjoy one another, and finish the journey of a life well cared for.”

Auburn Crest Hospice manages late stage care for clients with diagnoses such as Alzheimer’s/dementil, ALS, cancer, renal failure, COPD, CHF, stroke and other conditions.

ACH’s main office is located in Post Falls, Idaho and serves patients in Kootenai, Shoshone and Bonner counties. Medicare, Medicaid, VA and most insurances typically cover 100 percent of hospice care expenses.

Hospice services include pain and symptom management, help with personal care and hygiene, medication coverage, medical supplies and equipment, social services, grief and spiritual counseling, and continued family support.
