Read, ask questions before heading to polls
On May 13, I went to the candidates’ forum at Sandpoint High School. About 130 interested people were there; should have been thousands (my opinion). Here were the people spending our local tax monies and, in hte same room, the people who wished to replace them. Those in power spoke of how good they were doing locally. I believed the treasurer. She said, “I know the job and I am doing it properly.” The rest of the Bonner County officials who spoke were hard to believe. The few words that the new candidates were given to express themselves were not really enough to form opinions.
Please, voters, read, ask questions and then vote carefully. Our taxes are being wasted on pay and silly projects. Elected officials have a plan that will increase taxes and waste and not one good idea was put forward on cost reduction by a local incumbent.
