Chamber opening satellite visitor center
SANDPOINT — Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce officials are opening a summer Satellite Visitor Center on June 1.
The satellite center will be located in the chamber’s former location on Highway 95.
“We are pleased to open this second visitor center to promote our businesses in the Greater Sandpoint area,” Kathy Hubbard, chamber board president, said. “We’ll see between 100 to 150 visitors per day during the peak season, and the visibility and accessibility of the Sand Creek location is a great advantage to our members.”
Operations director Corrie Greene is pleased to have veteran staff Melody Circo and Donna Guthrie to run the satellite center and provide referrals to businesses in the greater Sandpoint area.
“More opportunities exist for members to promote their business and gain that added exposure, so we welcome businesses to come tour the new facility,” said Greene.
The chamber will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2. Businesses and area residents are invited to stop by. Complimentary goodies will be served.
The visitor centers provide information about member businesses, lodging, activities, dining, events, and other information of interest to visitors and new and potential residents.
The facilities are solely funded by membership fees through their Visit Sandpoint partners, said Hubbard. In order to open the second center in conjunction with the downtown location, the chamber offered sponsorship opportunities for members to gain additional exposure.
The satellite location will be open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June 1 to Sept. 6; and the main headquarters visitor center and Chamber Offices (corner of Third and Oak in Sandpoint) is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
