Michelle Obama invited to area's Fourth of July

| May 29, 2010 9:00 PM

Pam Stout, the president of the Sandpoint Tea Party Patriots, has invited Mrs. Obama to visit and celebrate Independence Day with the members of the local Tea Party. Mrs. Stout was recently seen on the Late Show with David Letterman and is an outstanding example of the Tea Party membership. The invitation to Mrs. Obama has been sent by registered mail to the White House.

Tea Party members have been disparaged by various politicians and members of the news media. Mrs. Stout and the members of the Sandpoint Patriots want to show the first family exactly how friendly North Idaho and its citizens are. The Patriots are nice, kind, considerate, generous and, of course, humble. But they have come to the line in the sand that will not be crossed. The government has gone too far and they are digging in.

They are citizens that believe firmly in the Constitution. The values that built the greatest nation in the world have been lost. Both parties have betrayed the majority of Americans. And it has been our fault, because we have been silent, accepted rudeness, and been overly tolerant of America being pulled in to a downward spiral. The constitution and American values are what made this country the greatest in the history of the world. Any country following this culture can also excel.
